A hard, minimal scale, no gradients, only ticks and one honest redline near the top. Baseline sits at 7, a low, constant hum of tiny breathing, holes flexing open and shut by fractions. Push the clamp bar and the needle jumps to 10. On a good rep it kisses 11 and stays there, which is not supposed to be possible for something made of foam and pride.

Press the control below and the page does what he does: it locks. Scroll freezes, the clamp bar snaps tighter, the rear view inches in as if the sponge just flexed to seal the screen. Press it again and motion comes back, the stare does not soften either way.
